Jackson anak Janda, an Iban ethnic born in Sarawak began his dance journey from the earliest days of primary school, and his dance odyssey took a serious root at Sekolah Seni Malaysia, Sarawak, where he delved deeper into the intricacies and nuances of this expressive form. Graduating from high school in 2018 marked a pivotal moment as he embarked on a dedicated pursuit of excellence in dance.

He went into a higher education, pursuing a diploma and eventually a degree in dance at the Faculty of Music and Performing Arts, Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris. He have been involved in various major productions locally and abroad including Incress 22 INTernational Choreographers’ Residency in Sapphire : Contemporary Dance Intensive by Raziman Sarbini in Kolkata India and Muara Festival in Singapore . Under the guidance of Mr Hamid Chan in the Festival Colours of The World 2022, he won the Champion, Best Choreography and Best Costume . 

At the university level, he has been involved in many dance productions as a dancer and dance conferences. Notable among these were Konsert Diraja UPSI 2019, Dance Competition – FESTKUM 2019, Kuala Lumpur & Selangor Schools Dance Exchange at DPAC 2019, Dance Xchange: The Philippines International Dance Workshop and Festival 2020, Muara Festival Singapore 2021, Festival Colors of the World (Fesco) at UTP 2021, Chura’ Iban: A Dance Journey (Dance Film) 2022, Festival Zapin Muar at the Malaysian Tourism Center, Kuala Lumpur, Kontra Borneo Performance at KLPAC 2023. 

A continuous involvement in various dance productions and publications, showcasing his versatility and dedication over the years. His journey is a testament to his unwavering dedication, artistic prowess, and commitment to elevating the world of dance.
